When you post a session, its name, time, area, fish, experience level and note are public on the homepage. Don’t put anything there you wouldn’t say to a stranger on the quay.

Your contact details aren’t in the page. Anyone who taps Join and then Show contact on your session sees them, and that includes a phone number if you give one. Each visitor can only open a limited number of contacts, which slows down scraping but can’t stop a determined person.

• Your session and contact details. Hidden from the site two hours after the start time or when you cancel, and deleted about 30 days after the session date.
• Counts of sessions posted, Join taps, contacts shown, and sessions marked full or cancelled. They’re linked to a session, never to a person or a device.
• Reports of a session, with the reason and any note. Deleted with the session.
• A scrambled code of your IP address, to limit how often one visitor can post, report or open contacts. It changes every day, isn’t your IP address itself and isn’t linked to anything you post. It’s deleted after about two days.
• Server error messages, without personal details, for 30 days.

If you use Get in touch, your message (and your email, if you leave one) is emailed to the person who runs Castside. It isn’t stored on the site.

Castside runs on Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database), which process this data on its behalf. Emails go through Resend.

Cancel your session with your management link and it disappears from the site straight away. Want it deleted sooner than 30 days, or lost your link? Use Get in touch below and say which session it was.
